Framing Carpenter

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Framing Carpenter to join our team. As a Framing Carpenter you will be responsible for constructing the structural framework of new wood buildings -- walls, floors, roofs -- using lumber and engineered wood systems, according to plans and building code requirements. You will work on new builds (residential houses, townhomes, commercial wood-frame buildings) alongside the framing crew, ensuring safe, accurate and timely work.

Responsibilities:

Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications. Layout, measure, mark, and cut lumber and engineered wood members (studs, joists, rafters, beams, trusses) to build floor systems, walls, roof structures and stair framing. Build, repair and install wooden structures such as walls, roofs, and floors. Assemble and erect wall panels, floor systems and roof systems; install sheathing as required. Ensure framing is plumb, level, square and built to specification; use levels, plumb bobs, lasers as required. Measure, cut, and shape wood and other materials using hand tools and power tools. Work with ICF Concrete block Ensure that all work is completed to the highest standards of quality and safety. Work safely at heights, on scaffolding or elevated platforms; comply with building site safety regulations. Maintain tools, equipment and keep job site clean and orderly. Collaborate with other members of the construction team. Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols

Qualifications & Skills:



Proven experience in framing wood-construction (residential and/or commercial) -- framing of new builds is preferred. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings. Comfort working with hand and power tools, and moving/lifting heavy lumber and panels. Strong knowledge of lumber framing techniques, layout, safety and building code basics. Physically fit: standing long hours, climbing ladders and scaffolds, working outdoors in varying weather. Reliable, team-oriented attitude and able to follow direction while maintaining quality and safety standards. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Additional certifications (e.g., workplace safety, elevated heights)
