Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and results-driven FP&A Analyst to join our finance team within a dynamic manufacturing environment. This position will support the financial planning and analysis function across our operations in Canada, the U.S., and Mexico. The FP&A Analyst will work closely with senior finance leadership and operational teams to drive budgeting, forecasting, performance analysis, KPI reporting, and strategic initiatives including M&A activities. The ideal candidate will provide actionable insights to improve operational efficiency and profitability. This position reports to the Department Manager or their designate.

Responsibilities
Budgeting & Forecasting
Develop, maintain, and update annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and long-range financial plans
Collaborate with plant managers and department heads to align financial plans with operational goals
Analyze variances between actual results and budget/forecast and provide actionable insights
Analyze production costs, inventory, labor, and overhead to identify trends and cost-saving opportunities
KPI Reporting & Dashboards
Design and maintain financial and operational KPI dashboards for leadership visibility
Track and report key business drivers and performance indicators on a regular basis
Deliver timely and accurate financial reports that support decision-making across the organization
Collaborate with operations and supply chain teams to align financial goals with manufacturing KPIs
Business Performance Analysis
Perform in-depth financial analysis on manufacturing costs, profitability, margins, and capital spending
Support month-end close by preparing and analyzing financial metrics and operational data
Identify trends and opportunities for efficiency, cost control, and performance improvement
Assist with capital expenditure analysis and ROI evaluations
Strategic Initiatives & M&A Support
Provide financial modeling and analytical support for strategic initiatives, investments, and potential acquisitions
Participate in due diligence and integration planning efforts for M&A projects
Assist the VP Finance in preparing presentations, business cases, and scenario analysis for executive leadership
Participate in audits and support external audit requirements
Prepare ad hoc financial reports and presentations for senior leadership
Researching accounting issues for compliance with accepted accounting principles
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
CPA of CFA designation is an asset
3-5 years of experience in FP&A, corporate finance, or financial analysis
Experience in manufacturing or industrial environments preferred
Strong analytical and financial modeling skills; advanced Excel proficiency required
Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Visual, NetSuite, Dynamics, JD Edwards) and BI/reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)
Experience with cost accounting and inventory management
Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles
Working knowledge of Canadian tax regulations and financial reporting standards
Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence non-financial stakeholders
Accomplished multi-tasker with the ability to work on cross-functional teams
Detail oriented with strong analytical skills and a broad knowledge of the full accounting cycle
Outstanding organizational skills
Desire to work as a team with a result driven approach
Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced, and cross-border environment
Work Conditions
Occasional travel to U.S. and Mexico facilities may be required
This is a newly created role with strong visibility to senior leadership and opportunities for growth
Prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer
Repetitive tasks such as looking at a computer monitor(s), typing, etc.
Safety equipment will be required, e.g., CSA approved steel-toed safety boots, etc. when on the shop floor
