We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Resource Worker to support children and families within our community. This role involves working closely with children who require additional support, including those involved in child protective services, adoption, or child welfare programs. The Resource Worker will collaborate with families, social service agencies, and community partners to promote the well-being and development of children with diverse needs. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children and a strong understanding of social work principles, especially in childcare and developmental disabilities. Responsibilities
Provide direct support to children involved in child protective services, adoption, or child welfare cases
Assist families in accessing resources and services that promote child safety, health, and development
Collaborate with social workers, healthcare providers, and community organizations to coordinate care and support plans
Monitor the well-being of children and report any concerns related to safety or developmental progress
Support children with developmental disabilities by implementing individualized care plans
Advocate for children's needs within family and community settings
Maintain detailed documentation of case interactions, assessments, and service plans
Participate in team meetings and training sessions related to child welfare, childcare, and social work best practices
Skills
Experience with children in settings such as childcare, social work, or child welfare programs
Knowledge of child protective services protocols and procedures
Familiarity with working with people with developmental disabilities
Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with children, families, and multidisciplinary teams
Ability to handle sensitive situations with empathy and professionalism
Excellent communication skills for documentation and collaboration purposes
Understanding of adoption processes and family reunification strategies is a plus
Commitment to promoting the safety, stability, and healthy development of children in need
