POSITION OVERVIEW

This position is responsible for managing the day-to-day field operations of the assigned field team. Responsibilities include managing and scheduling equipment required for the project, ensuring scope of work gets completed as per the Project Manager or the Forestry Supervisors direction, through supervising and leading field operations, while mentoring and training field staff.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Ensure that all Safety policies and procedures are strictly adhered to. Coordinate with Project Manager and or Forestry Supervisor team(s) to ensure that the project scope of work is accurate before work commences. Order and schedule delivery of all equipment needed for the project. Be the main point of communication between the field and office teams. Manage the work schedule and time for field staff with support of the Forestry Supervisor or Project Manager. Review project progress to ensure deadlines are met. Ensure scope of work gets completed accurately and according to budget. Provide leadership to onsite staff, subcontractors and other parties. Ability to work in different environmental conditions. All other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Environmental education with ability to register with the Forest Professionals of BC (FPBC) preferred. Willingness to work in various locations throughout BC for shifts. 2-5 years experience in the forest industry Ability to work independently in the outdoors Positive attitude, highly organized, eagerness to learn, and a team player. Basic outdoor skills and general fitness. Willingness to work in remote locations in adverse weather conditions. Willingness to work 8-12 hours/day (including over-time pay). Willingness to work extended shifts and stay out-of-town for work. Ability to pass a drug and alcohol test. Valid BC driver's license and Provide a drivers abstract.
