Overview of Position:
Cobra Mechanical is looking for a Sheet Metal Foreman to lead our Sheet Metal team. As a Foreman, you must possess strong leadership skills, the ability to work independently and collaboratively, and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship. Successful candidates will hold their Journeyperson Certificate and have extensive hands-on experience in sheet metal installation across commercial, industrial, and residential settings. The Sheet Metal Foreman will oversee day-to-day work on-site, support apprentices and journeyman, ensure safety compliance, and maintain project timelines. Cobra Mechanical proudly serves Northern Manitoba communities as well as Winnipeg and surrounding areas.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead, coordinate, and oversee sheet metal crews on job sites
Build and install HVAC systems in commercial, industrial, and residential applications
Lay out, measure, and mark sheet metal according to specifications
Work with appropriate equipment and tools to cut, bend, and form sheet metal
Weld or fasten sheet metal components as required
Verify quality of work and ensure all installations meet code and project standards
Read and interpret sketches, blueprints, and specifications
Support apprentice development through training, coaching, and mentorship
Communicate with project managers, site supervisors, and other trades to maintain workflow
Preferred Qualifications:
Minimum 2-3 years experience in a leadership or foreman capacity
Journeyperson Certificate in Sheet Metal
Valid Driver's License
Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
Proficient knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and sheet metal equipment
Other Qualifications:
Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills and the ability to lead in a diverse environment
Strong attention to detail and quality of work
Ability to work under pressure and manage changing priorities
Aware of the physical demands of the role
Adherence to safety policies, procedures, and best practices
Work conditions:
Travel to off-site locations as necessary, ability to lift 50+ lbs, required safety equipment, hazards associated with the trade, work both indoors and outdoors, construction sites, noise, irregular hours, overtime as required.
