As a

Precast Foreman

at Kiwi Newton Group, you'll play a pivotal role in leading our precast manufacturing operations with a hands-on, working-leadership approach. Based in our Guelph precast plant, you'll guide daily production, motivate your team, and actively participate in the work -- setting the tone for safety, quality, and productivity. This role is ideal for a proven leader who isn't afraid to roll up their sleeves, get in the mix, and drive results through teamwork, organization, and a commitment to excellence.

Position Details:



41 Massey Rd, Guelph, Ontario, Canada, N1H 7M6 Monday to Friday, 7am-4pm (some flexibility for maintenance schedules) Full-time, on-site within the precast manufacturing plant

Primary Responsibilities:



As a working foreman*, you'll both

lead and participate

in daily production activities, ensuring efficiency, safety, and quality throughout the precast operation.
Lead, motivate, and coordinate the plant's production crew to meet or exceed project schedules and goals Actively work alongside your team while maintaining oversight of daily operations Organize and execute daily production schedules based on project timelines and shipping requirements Implement lean manufacturing principles and maintain 5S organization across all work areas (Sort, Sanitize, Set in order, Standardize, Sustain) Ensure all production meets company standards for quality, safety, and efficiency Oversee the setup, operation, and maintenance of equipment and molds, ensuring optimal workflow Support the Precast Plant Manager with manpower planning, scheduling, and material coordination Conduct daily and weekly safety meetings (Toolbox Talks), enforce safety compliance, and report incidents promptly Monitor quality control procedures and ensure corrective actions are implemented when necessary Coordinate with maintenance staff to ensure equipment reliability and minimal downtime Maintain accurate records of production, timesheets, purchase orders, and cost codes Train and mentor production staff, fostering teamwork, accountability, and a culture of continuous improvement Oversee plant security, access control, and the safe handling of materials and equipment Communicate effectively with management, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure smooth production flow

Required Skills & Qualifications:



High School Diploma or equivalent (required) Minimum 5 years in construction or industrial/manufacturing environments Supervisory experience (minimum 2 years preferred) in a production or precast setting Precast concrete manufacturing processes Quality control, production scheduling, and shipping coordination Lean manufacturing and 5S organization systems Maintenance systems and workflow coordination Workplace safety standards (Green Book knowledge is an asset) Strong leadership and communication skills across all organizational levels Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities under pressure Capable of defining and implementing efficient work processes and production paths Proficient in documentation, record keeping, and basic computer literacy Physically fit and comfortable working in varied plant conditions (ability to lift up to 75 lbs) Committed to maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work environment
