Job Overview
We are seeking a Horticulture Foreman who shows strong leadership qualities and is physically fit to handle the demands of the role. The Horticulture Foreman is responsible for:
Leading a crew of 2-6 people in the field
Scheduling equipment maintenance for your crew, company truck, and company equipment
Overseeing your crew efficiently and respectfully to meet production goals
Ensuring job site safety procedures are followed by the crew
Transporting the crew to and from the job site in the company truck
Accurately reporting your crews hours and job site reporting for clients
Reporting to your supervisor daily of all work completed or not completed
Duties
Supervise and coordinate daily activities of landscaping crews, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and to quality standards.
Plan and implement landscape maintenance schedules, including planting, pruning, and irrigation.
Operate and maintain various hand tools and power tools used in landscape maintenance.
Train team members on proper techniques for garden care, equipment usage, and safety protocols.
Monitor project progress, addressing any issues or challenges that arise to ensure timely completion.
Maintain clear communication with clients to understand their needs and provide updates on project status.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote a safe working environment for all team members.
Skills
Proficiency in garden maintenance practices including planting, weeding, mulching, and pest control.
Strong knowledge of irrigation systems and their maintenance.
Experience using hand tools such as pruners, shovels, rakes, and power tools like lawnmowers and blowers.
Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
Strong problem-solving abilities to address challenges on-site promptly.
Good communication skills for interacting with clients and team members.
