We have an opportunity for a Forecast Analyst to join our Customer Excellence team. The Forecast Analyst helps drives brand commercial success through communicating insights derived from market data and interpret market trends in a way that helps AbbVie Canada make more strategic business decisions. The Analyst also works in partnership with the Finance team to deliver monthly, annual and long-range financial forecasts and with Business Unit and Brand Managers, to address the needs and identify opportunities for improved brand performance. This position is based in Montreal (Saint-Laurent) and reports to the Business Intelligence Manager.

Key responsibilities:

Analytics:

  • Assume ownership of the monthly forecasting process and analytical projects.
  • Deliver analytics that identify opportunities to improve/accelerate brand performance.
  • Analyze complex business problems and issues using data from internal and external sources and provide perspective and insights on issues/opportunities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with local and global AbbVie colleagues to drive best practices in Canada.
  • Be an active contributor to commercial teams and balance analytical perspective with business drive.
  • Work collaboratively with the Sales Operations, Finance, Market Access and other cross-functional teams, when applicable.
  • Display creative and analytical attention to detail.
Data management:
  • Learn and understand the logic behind different forecast models that are used to support the AbbVie brands.
  • Manage models and lead the forecasting process on a monthly and annual basis, demonstrating effective project management skills.
  • Maintain, adjust and upload, external and internal data elements using Microsoft Excel.
  • Implement proper management techniques to ensure the accuracy of the data collection.
  • Improve the efficiency of the procedures for data management and analysis.
Education/Experience required:
  • BacheloraAEURA(TM)s Degree in Commerce, Finance or Science related field or equivalent is required. MBA or CPA considered an asset. Relevant business experience with proven track record of success. Previous experience in the pharmaceutical industry is preferred (minimum of three years). Experience in an analytical role such as market analytics or research, marketing, finance or other cross-functional experience is considered a strength.
Essential skills and abilities:
  • Advanced French and English language proficiency (oral and written).
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word) with a strong skill level with Excel.
  • Must be at ease with technology (the use of various tools/systems to perform day-to-day tasks).
  • Knowledge of VBA macros is considered a plus
  • Ability to think and plan strategically (work plans, activities, timetables, targeting) and operating with execution excellence.
  • Robust knowledge and understanding of internal and external data sources to answer questions.
