The Foothills Local Immigration Partnership (FLIP) is a collaborative community initiative funded by Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). Local Immigration Partnerships (LIPs): - Systematize local engagement of service providers and other community organizations for welcoming and including newcomers in the community - Support community-level research and strategic planning - Improve coordination of effective services that facilitate immigrant settlement and integration LIPs do not deliver services directly to newcomers, but facilitate a collaborative framework with community partners to ensure the development and implementation of successful and sustainable strategies to integrate newcomer/immigrant needs, build welcoming communities, support immigrant recruitment and retention, create active inclusion, and increase the sense of belonging of newcomers. The FLIP coordinator will be primarily responsible for managing and facilitating objectives of the LIP in the communities within the Foothills region. S/he will work together with the CCIS LIP team lead and the Rocky View LIP coordinator, and will be accountable to the Partnership Councils (or their Chair(s)) and a regional coordinator.
