RFR #: Use Portal Form ID# 1155Reporting to the Food Services Manager, the Food Services Worker-Relief is responsible, as part of a team, to assist with preparing meals for our daycare. Food Services - Relief will also ensure all food deliveries from suppliers and donations are received, sorted, and stored in the most efficient manner.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Receive, verify orders and stores all purchased food and kitchen items
• Receive donated goods, sort and transfer to appropriate area
• Place food on the giveaway carts during mealtimes
• Oversee stored food rotation
• Follow Environmental Health Services Guidelines regarding how food is prepared, handled, and stored
• Keeps all food inventories up to date
• Greet and welcomes all donors in a professional and respectful manner
• Assist cook with preparing and serving of meals
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen (floors, countertops, walls)
• Work in dish-pit, cleaning cookware and dishes
• Works alongside volunteers
• Respect and follow necessary boundaries with coworkers, volunteers and guests
• Required to abide by all Health & Safety protocols including completing a report for all incidents that occur, including near misses, in a timely manner.
• Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

• A minimum of one (1) year experience working in the Food Service industry preferred
• Valid certificate from the Alberta Health Services Food Safe course
• Ability to successfully prepare food in a commercial kitchen for a large number of clients
• Willingness to obtain the necessary training The Mustard Seed requires
• Customer service experience
• Ability to resolve conflicts as they arise

WORKING CONDITIONS

• As The Mustard Seed is a Christian ministry, we require our employees to sign an agreement indicating that they will respect and not detract from our Statement of Faith.
• This is a casual position requiring availability to work weekends
• Position is often fast-paced and demanding, requiring substantial mental effort to analyze information and problem solve. Daily interactions with colleagues and guests required.
• This is a xe2x80x9chands onxe2x80x9d position: moderate to significant physical effort required, extended periods of standing, walking, sitting, climbing, lifting, reaching, carrying (must be able to lift up to 25 to 50 pounds)
• Employees are to be aware that many of our clients may experience difficulties or impairment at times, which could result in them uttering threats, discriminatory statements, and other insults at your person. This may in a raised voice, or in seeing unpredictable behaviour up to and including the possibility of them becoming aggressive.

o Training on how to respond is provided, but this is to be considered typical working conditions. Many of our clients are unaware of the impact of these comments.ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
