What we are looking for:Perform heavy duty cleaning, deep cleaning, recycling & garbage disposal, cleaning of equipment in kitchen, including storage spaces & dishroom
Comfortable in breakdown and assembly of kitchen & cleaning equipment, including dishmachine, for proper cleaning and sanitation
Knowledge and understanding of Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
Complete daily QA/cleaning logs
Adhere to safety rules, WHMIS, and other departmental/organizational policies and procedures.
Use proper PPE as specified.
Attend and participate in department meetings.
Perform additional duties and responsibilities as necessary or assigned.
Physical Demands:Continuous bending, lifting, reaching and standing for long periods during the shift
Extensive standing and walking
Pushing patient food carts and auto-scrubbers through hallways and various surface areas
Fast pace work environment
Exposure to heat and cold i.e. walk in fridges and freezers
What you bring to the role:1-2 years of previous experience in similar role
Strong organizational and priority setting skills with the ability to meet deadlines
Attention to detail, especially when it comes to cleaning & sanitizing
Strong communication (written and verbal), interpersonal, organizational and prioritizing skills
Evidence of good initiative and problem solving
Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as a member of the team
Demonstrated good attendance and work performance record with the ability to maintain these same standards
Demonstrated commitment to a healthy and safe workplace for self and others (staff, patients, families, etc.) by taking all reasonable precautions and working in compliance with hospital related policies, health and safety legislation and best practices and completing relevant mandatory education as required
Minimum Grade 10 education or equivalent
Work Schedule:
The current hours of work will be 1600-2000, including every other weekend. Please note that the shift is subject to change based on the operational needs of the department.
