JOB TITLE: Food Service Assistant (Part - Time) 3 days a week.

DEPARTMENT: Facilities, Florenceville-Bristol

Position Summary

• Working independently, ensuring that all kitchen facilities are kept clean, tidy, safe and presentable. Reports any safety or hygiene concerns immediately.

Job Responsibilities

• Determine food inventory needs, stocking and ordering.
• Prepares food items by cutting, chopping, mixing and preparing sauces.
• Cooks food items by grilling, frying, saut\xc3\xa9ing, to specified recipes and standards.
• Work with Cafeteria Lead to prepare for special meals/banquets based on McCain individual or team requirements.
• Ensure the kitchen meets all regulations including sanitary and food safety guidelines.
• Other related duties as may be required.

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum high school education
• Experience of kitchen equipment and dangerous equipment such as knives.
• Required to obtain WHMIS certification.
• Previous Food and Banquet experience.

Special Requirements

• Subject to a clear criminal background check prior to employment
• Must be bondable.

Environment

• Indoor cafeteria and kitchen setting.
• Occasional outside catering.

Physical Demands

• Crouching, bending, reaching, repetitive movements
• Push, pull, carry
• Standing on feet for long periods of time.

Safety

• Excellent knowledge of foods safety and hygiene.
• Proper knowledge of kitchen equipment, operating, cleaning and maintenance.
