Food Sanitation Specialist

to join our team and help us maintain the highest sanitation standards in our facility.

Position Summary

The Food Sanitation Specialist is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing food-production areas, equipment, and utensils to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. This position plays a key role in maintaining our spotless facility and ensuring that all our food products are produced in a clean and safe environment. This role provides service over the night shift and finishes early in the morning.

Key Responsibilities

Clean and sanitize all food-contact surfaces, equipment, tools, and work areas after each production run. Follow established cleaning schedules, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and safety guidelines. Properly mix and handle cleaning and sanitizing chemicals; maintain accurate chemical concentration logs. Disassemble and reassemble production equipment for deep cleaning when required. Work closely with the production, quality assurance, and maintenance teams to coordinate cleaning around schedules. Complete sanitation records, checklists, and documentation accurately. Report any maintenance issues, unsafe conditions, or potential contamination risks to management. Follow all health and safety policies, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Assist with weekend deep-cleaning shifts as scheduled.

Requirements

Previous experience in food sanitation, cleaning, or food production is preferred (training will be provided). Knowledge of Ontario food safety and sanitation regulations is an asset. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle cleaning equipment and chemicals safely. Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean work environment. Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team. Flexibility for occasional weekend work.
