We're hiring a

Food Safety & Compliance Coordinator

to oversee and implement our food safety programs -- including

CanadaGAP-certified systems in Canada

and

PrimusGFS certification in Arizona

-- ensuring full compliance with federal, state/provincial, and customer standards.

Position Summary



The Food Safety & Compliance Coordinator will manage the execution and verification of food safety programs across all growing, packing, and shipping operations. This position requires a proactive, organized individual with food safety expertise and the ability to coordinate across borders and teams.

This is a

remote position with travel

(~20%) to farm sites across British Columbia, Saskatchewan, and Arizona.

Key Responsibilities



Maintain and implement Food Safety Plans for CanadaGAP (Canada) and PrimusGFS (USA) Coordinate third-party audits, internal inspections, and CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Actions) Conduct pre- and post-harvest risk assessments and sanitation inspections, Oversee documentation for harvest, input applications, sanitation, and product traceability Lead or support employee food safety training, including hygiene and SOP compliance Monitor and enforce FSMA Produce Safety Rule and CFIA regulatory standards Maintain digital and paper records to audit-ready standards Collaborate with farm managers, harvest crews, and packing facility teams

Qualifications



Degree or diploma in Food Science, Agriculture, Environmental Health, or related field 2-5 years experience in a food safety or compliance role within produce operations Certification in HACCP and/or PCQI required Working knowledge of

CanadaGAP and PrimusGFS

food safety programs Familiarity with traceability systems and microbial risk management Strong attention to detail with excellent recordkeeping and audit preparation skills Proficient in MS Office; experience with food safety software platforms an asset Fluent in English. Proficient Spanish is an asset. Valid passport and driver's license; ability to travel cross-border (Canada/U.S.)

Working Conditions



Hybrid work structure with ~25% travel Field and packinghouse environments; long hours may be required during audits or harvest Remote admin time for documentation, reporting, and coordination

Position Details



Full-time, 40 hours per week minimum Pay: $65,000-90,000 CAD annual salary Monday to Friday, weekends as needed Location: Preferably drivable distance to one of the farm locations and near a major airport for travel
