About the Role



We are seeking a proactive, hands-on

Production Supervisor

to oversee daily production operations in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership, floor presence, and an agile, hands-on approach--moving seamlessly between production rooms, adjusting labour in real time, and working alongside staff to maintain efficient workflow and consistent product quality.

This role ensures all production activities meet food safety, quality, and regulatory requirements, including CFIA, HACCP, Preventive Control Plan (PCP), and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).

Key Responsibilities



Production & Workflow Management



Oversee daily production operations to meet schedules and targets. Maintain an active presence across all production rooms to prevent bottlenecks. Assign staff based on priorities, demand, and skill level. Monitor equipment, ingredient levels, and workflow to minimize downtime. Ensure accurate batch records, documentation, lot coding, and traceability. Coordinate & cover break and lunch schedules to keep production running smoothly. Ensure timely completion of end-of-day duties and equipment assembly/disassembly.

Leadership & Staff Management



Provide hands-on coaching, direction, and daily support to production staff. Work alongside employees to model speed, accuracy, and proper processes. Train and mentor staff on SOPs, GMPs, safety, and equipment. Partner with the VP Operations on performance evaluations and feedback. Monitor attendance, performance, and policy compliance; address issues promptly. Support onboarding and consistent training for new hires.

Food Safety, Quality & Compliance



Ensure production activities meet HACCP, PCP, CFIA, and GMP requirements. Conduct pre-op, in-process, and post-op inspections as required. Verify accuracy of production records, CCP/PC monitoring, and quality checks. Uphold sanitation, allergen controls, foreign-material prevention, and all internal programs. Collaborate with Quality, Sanitation, and Maintenance to resolve issues quickly.

Continuous Improvement & Problem Solving



Identify operational inefficiencies and recommend improvements. Support waste reduction through efficient use of resources. Participate in internal/external audits, corrective actions, and root-cause analysis. Resolve production issues and collaborate with VP Operations on long-term solutions. Contribute to the development and improvement of standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Qualifications



High school diploma required; post-secondary education is an asset. 2+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment (food/bakery preferred). Strong understanding of production processes, food safety, and quality control. Knowledge of HACCP, PCP, GMPs, and JHSC requirements. Proficiency with production management systems, digital logs, and basic office software. Strong leadership and communication skills in a multicultural environment. Ability to work independently while effectively leading a team. Able to lift up to 20 kg and work in hot, cold, or variable conditions. Adaptable to frequent changes in priorities; solution-focused. Reliable, disciplined, hands-on, and able to learn multiple production areas. Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.

Pay: $58,000.00-$63,000.00 per year
