Job Summary

We are seeking a friendly and efficient Food Service Counter Attendant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, preparing food items, handling transactions accurately, and maintaining a clean and organized work area. This role is essential in ensuring a positive dining experience for our customers while adhering to food safety and sanitation standards. Previous restaurant or food industry experience is preferred but not required; training will be provided to the right candidate.

Responsibilities

Greet customers warmly and take their orders accurately using POS systems such as Micros POS Prepare and assemble food items according to established recipes and quality standards Handle cash transactions, process payments, and give correct change using basic math skills Upsell menu items to enhance customer satisfaction and increase sales opportunities Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the counter area, utensils, and equipment in compliance with food safety regulations Manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure prompt service Restock supplies as needed and assist with food preparation tasks in the kitchen when required Ensure all food handling procedures follow health department guidelines and safety protocols

Skills

Proven experience in food service, cashiering, or restaurant environments is a plus Familiarity with POS systems such as Micros POS and cash handling procedures Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper food handling techniques Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently during peak hours Basic math skills for accurate cash handling and transaction processing Ability to work quickly while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment Experience with food preparation, serving, and upselling menu items is desirable Kitchen experience or background in the food industry will be advantageous
