About this Opportunity
The Richmond Country Club (RCC) is looking for an hourly full-time Food & Beverage Supervisorto join our Food & Beverage team. The candidate would report to the Food and Beverage Director and collaborates with the Catering Manager and Culinary Director. The Food & Beverage Supervisor will lead a team in providing friendly and professional service to our members and guests. Within this role, the Food & Beverage Supervisor will support all aspects of the Food & Beverage department from outlet to events.

What are we looking for and what can you bring to the table?
The Food & Beverage Supervisors duties are:

  • Enthusiastically supervise staff during service and assist in overall service delivery in the various outlets.
  • Provide assistance and direction to staff before, during and after each event
  • Ensure, during pre-shift briefings, that outlets are consistent in set up and that staff are set up for success.
  • Lead a pre-shift meeting with staff to provide an overview of the service or event and timelines for the shift.
  • Administrative: oversee closing duties, and review cash outs, complete daily service logs, assist with monthly beverage inventory, and daily, and weekly labor management.
  • Enforce all club policies i.e., uniform policy, staff breaks, etc. and ensure that the Clubs rules and regulations are adhered to.
  • Ensure the Catering and Events Manager, Executive Chef and Director of Food and Beverage are made aware of all membership and guest feedback.
  • During events, establish rapport with site contact, ensure guest requirements are met, addressing the BEO and clarifying details to ensure nothing is missed or forgotten in the absence of the Catering and Events Manager.
  • Actively participate in training the new staff to bring them up to speed with regular service operations.
  • Be a gatekeeper of the set standards of operation and ensure all staff on duty follow it consistently.

What makes you a great fit?
  • Minimum one-year supervisory experience within a country club or hospitality background (preferred: restaurant, banquet and events experience)
  • Exceptional organization skills, with the ability to multitask
  • Knowledge of proper pre-shift, tear down and service etiquettes
  • Ability to communicate in a professional manner with employees, members, vendors, and guests
  • Exceptional customer service skills; polished image with an emphasis on professionalism
  • Basic knowledge of audio-visual equipment an asset

Required Licenses/ Certificates/ Skills:
  • Valid Serving it Right Certification required
  • General wine and practical bartending skills is an asset

Shift Availability:
  • Schedule: Day shift/ Evening shift/ Monday to Friday and Weekend availability is expected
  • Hours of Work: 40 hours per week, flexible shifts based on operational needs
  • Flexibility: Flexible to work weekends and holidays is crucial
  • Start Date: As soon as possible
  • This position has potential to be year-round. The individual must be flexible to work weekends and holidays; and would work 40 hours/week during the peak season.

The Operations:
The RCC clubhouse features kitchen facilities, two restaurants, and an outdoor patio and dining facility. The F&B department is comprised of two food and beverage outlets and catering for events. As a private club we provide a quintessential dining destination, with our Macans restaurant, and a relaxing, casual setting within Aces.
