SilverBirch Hotels & Resorts is one of Canada\xe2\x80\x99s leading hotel management companies and manages a large portfolio of full-service, focused service and extended stay hotels across Canada. The company manages hotels operating under major franchise brands, such as Marriott and Hilton.

Basic Purpose
The Food & Beverage Supervisor will lead and guide the Food & Beverage team during the shift and serve as an Ambassador of guest satisfaction in achieving departmental goals in service, revenue, and profit.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership for the F&B team and lead by example; oversee shift operations.
  • Ensure all department operational procedures are followed in accordance to standards
  • Greet seat and service guests in accordance to standards
  • Assist with service and/or bussing when necessary to ensure superior guest satisfaction.
  • Monitor the schedule daily, ensuring that staffing levels are maintained and consistent with business levels while following the guidelines created by the hotel and union.
  • Follow through on guest requests and/or complaints.
  • Participate in the development of the merchandising and marketing of all food & beverage services
  • Relay suggestions about menu items and guest feedback to the Director of Operations.
  • Assist with the recruitment, selection, training and development of Outlet team members to ensure high standards are maintained.
  • Contribute to the on boarding and training process of all new associates.
  • Ensure all financial reporting is maintained and accurate, including payroll and billing
  • Assist with scheduling and inventories as required.
  • Actively participate and contribute to project work identified by the Director of Operations
  • Ensure superior cleanliness and quality for the outlet areas.
  • Ensure the security of keys, company information, and guest information.
  • Report unsafe work conditions, areas requiring repair or suspicious persons
  • Committed to providing exceptional and professional customer service working within the guidelines set out by procedures and the brand.
  • Treat everyone with respect; fosters a cooperative, productive, positive, respectful environment
  • Work and communicate in a professional and ethical manner
  • Provide information to guests about local attractions, services, hotel services & other amenities
  • Maintain standards of punctuality, uniform presentation and personal hygiene
  • Attend meetings as required and recognize the importance of contributing new ideas and initiative to the overall success of the operation
  • Communicate and cooperate effectively with all departments
  • Liaise closely with the Culinary team; promote teamwork between Culinary and Outlet teams.
  • Provides a favorable image of SilverBirch Hotels & Resorts and the Brand to the public by consistently demonstrating our Values (Engagement, Quality, Performance, Integrity and Growth)
  • Other related duties and projects as assigned
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Required:
  • Strong communication, supervisory and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Education & Qualifications:
  • Minimum 2-years previous Food & Beverage experience is required
  • Previous supervisory experience is required.
  • Diploma in hospitality is an asset
  • Ability to communicate verbally and written in English.
  • Reliable and flexible to work various shift schedules.
  • Knowledge of wine service is an asset.
  • Responsible Beverage Server Certificate.
Working Conditions:
  • Able to push, pull and lift up to 50 lbs and to bend and kneel with comfort.
  • Fast paced environment that is often demanding
  • Stand, walk and remain on feet to perform job duties for entire shift duration
  • Hours and shifts will vary according to occupancy levels.
Position Details:
  • Shifts: Will include days, evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Range of Hours: 30 - 40 hours per week
