is responsible for the successful operation of all aspects of the food and beverage outlets in their location. They will collaborate with the leadership team to share best practices throughout Noir Food Services Ltd, with support and guidance from the Owners.
Our Food & Beverage Lead works closely with their people to ensure the perfect guest experience, by developing leaders of the present and of the future. Guest service associates, bartenders, servers, restaurant and banquet supervisors, and supervisors complete your front of house team. You will inspire and coach these team members towards service excellence by providing proactive, resourceful, and positive leadership.
Duties and responsibilities
Direct and control the day-to-day food & beverage operations (restaurants, and/or coffee shops and/or banquet facilities) while maintaining and abiding by all standards, policies, and procedures set forth by our company, applicable government agencies and foreign worker programs.
Lead the front service teams at your location, acting as model of our operational excellence by taking a hands-on approach to service leadership, averaging 80% of weekly hours worked on the floor, and 20% dedicated to operational planning and coordination.
Plan, coordinate, and supervise of the delivery of service in all areas, including restaurants, banquets, take out, delivery and in-room dining to maximize long-term profitability through excellent leadership and maintaining high morale within your team.
Act as a coach to provide ongoing opportunities for your crew to build their skills, including creating personalized career development pathways.
Collaborate with the culinary leadership team, ensuring high quality products and service, including maintaining and controlling cleaning, food safety and sanitation protocols.
Work closely with the culinary leadership team on daily specials and promotions, and the evaluation of plating and food quality.
Implement and monitor a Responsible Beverage Program that helps monitor and ensure Liquor Licensing compliance (including BCLC compliance if applicable).
Lead the design and delivery of exceptional cocktails and drink menus, including managing ordering and inventory.
Focus on innovating programs and procedures that culture existing business and build new business in all location venues, including being actively involved in the marketing and promotion of the venue to ensure growth year on year.
Develop, implement, and monitor inventory and inventory management programs and procedures. Work with staff to ensure the outlets are stocked and products are on hand, inventory is entered in the POS, and controls and recipes are followed.
Manage and track waste, including spearheading initiatives to reduce or eliminate it.
Manage and submit periodic weekly and monthly reports regarding labour cost, inventory, etc.
Meet or exceed labour cost targets and display accountability for weekly financial reporting requirements to management.
Manage the occupational health and safety functions of your location.
Perform any other reasonable request as assigned by the Owner.
The ideal candidate:
A hands-on leader with at least five years of experience leading a team in Food and Beverage or Tourism industries, including managing quality assurance during both high and low revenue periods.
Dedicated to providing personalized and professional service to all guests, and to showcasing the local region.
Strong leadership and coaching skills which allow you to develop our front-of-house crew.
Proven experience displaying initiative, including a proactive approach to increasing sales.
Displays a passion for great cocktails and non-alcoholic beverages, and Strong knowledge of beer, wine, and spirits, including barista experience.
Experience with inventory management and costed scheduling.
Strong interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse environment.
Able to operate in high pressure environment and remain calm and focused in urgent situations.
Able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as well as overtime from time to time.
Able to read, write and communicate effectively.
Able to manage time efficiently.
Degree or diploma in either Culinary Arts, Pastry Arts or Hospitality Management.
Holds a valid Serving it Right certification.
Holds or is willing to work towards holding a WSET (or similar) certification.
Holds or is willing to work towards a FOODSAFE certification.
