We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Food Service Worker to join our team at the new Corner Stone Bistro in the heart of North Vancouver! A long standing pillar in the community, we are seeking dynamic and experienced front of house staff who are passionate about quality foods, farm to table foods, and delivering a unique experience for all guests.
In this role, you will play a vital part in providing exceptional service to our customers while ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality. Your responsibilities will include coffee making, taking orders, light food preparation, serving, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment. Ideal candidates will have a minimum of 1 year experience in the food industry in front of house and a passion for delivering outstanding customer service.
At this time, we are not hiring any underage workers or staff without previous experience working in a cafe or restaurant setting.
Responsibilities
Prepare and serve food items according to established recipes and standards
Ensure all food handling practices comply with health and safety regulations
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and dining areas
Assist customers with their orders, providing excellent customer service
Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during peak hours
Handle cash transactions accurately when required
Adhere to all food safety guidelines to ensure the well-being of our customers
Qualifications
Previous restaurant experience or background in the food industry is required
Strong customer service skills with a friendly demeanor
Experience in serving, food preparation, or food handling is required
Knowledge of food safety practices is essential and valid Food Safe as well as Serving It Right are required (19+ only for all service staff)
Barista experience is required
A passion for hospitality and commitment to providing a positive dining experience
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
Join us in creating memorable experiences for our guests through quality service and delicious food! Our bistro will be serving mainly organic, farm to table foods as well as hosting events, selling groceries, representing local artists and vendors, and hosting live music each month!
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $20.00-$22.00 per hour
