We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join our team in the Food department. This role involves preparing, serving, and maintaining high-quality food items in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food service, excellent customer interaction skills, and a commitment to cleanliness and safety standards. This position offers an opportunity to develop culinary skills and gain valuable experience in the food industry. This could include casino floor, buffet, lounge, or room service.
Responsibilities
Prepare and serve food items according to established recipes and presentation standards
Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, and dining areas
Ensure food safety and sanitation practices are strictly followed at all times
ensures beverages are prepared according to house policies and adheres to all liquor and health polices
Assist with inventory management, including stocking supplies and rotating stock as needed
Provide friendly and efficient service to customers, addressing their needs promptly
Follow health department regulations and company policies to ensure a safe working environment
Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operation during busy periods
Assist with special event setups or catering requests as required
Manage other initiatives or duties as required
Requirements
Prior experience in food service or hospitality is preferred but not required; training will be provided
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
Strong communication skills and a friendly demeanor when interacting with customers and team members
Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 25 pounds
Knowledge of basic food safety standards and sanitation procedures is a plus
Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends or holidays if needed
A positive attitude, reliability, and a willingness to learn new skills
Computer literacy in MS Office: POS experience
First Nations experience an asset
Other languages an asset
Smart Serve, SIR or equivalent (required)
Criminal Record Clearance mandatory
Experience: 1 year (preferred)
Work Environment Considerations
Regular and restaurant environment, non-traditional work hours, standing and walking for long periods of time; lifting and carrying.
