The Saratoga Speedway Food and Beverage Manager will work with and report to the General Manager as a member of the management team to oversee all aspects of food and beverage preparation, service, and stock management, while effectively maintaining industry and provincial standards of four operational venue-style concessions. This multi-function sports and entertainment events venue operates seasonally from April to October and this position is fulltime seasonal. Our manager must be able to adapt quickly to change, be passionate about food services and customer relations, and thrive in a fast-paced demanding environment where customer services and operational demands meet. Successful applicant will also provide direct supervision of a team of summer-students and seasonal adult cooks and servers. JOB DESCRIPTION: Duties include but are not limited to: - Weekly forecasting, planning, sourcing, and stocking food and beverage supplies while effectively managing expiry dates. - Organize, oversee, and participate in food preparation and service for events. - Maintain operational knowledge of installed venue-style food handling and preparation. equipment; acknowledging equipment failures and immediately referring to service providers. - Train and organize the training of new food services employees. - Maintain impeccable cleanliness of all Food and Beverage operational areas. - Plan menus, organize supplies and staff, coordinate and participate in the preparation and service of occasional special catered events for 150 participants. - Oversee concession opening and closing operations; ensuring equipment is properly energised, utilized, cleaned, and shutdown at the end of use, all waste and refuse is appropriately handled. - Coordinate post-event concession clean-up operations crew. - Sumit accurate staff time sheets with accurately calculated digital tip precedes. - Handle customer complaints and responding to customer needs while maintaining positive customer relations. GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS: - Prior food and beverage management experience is highly desirable. - 5+ years experience as a qualified chef/cook with a solid understanding of food and beverage operations is essential. - Prior \xe2\x80\x9cevent-venue\xe2\x80\x9d experience is desirable. - Our manager must display high standards in personal hygiene and deportment, be an energetic, dedicated, and passionate team member, and be ready to take on challenge and adversity in a high-paced and often hectic sports and entertainment environment.
