1. Experience



5+ years of hospitality or customer-service experience



Previous supervisory or management experience is often preferred



Experience in a restaurant, cafe, bar, or similar FOH environment



2. Skills



Strong customer-service and communication skills



Leadership and team-management skills



Ability to handle high-pressure situations



Problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities



Cash-handling and basic math



Familiarity with POS systems



3. Knowledge



Understanding of restaurant operations



Basic food safety and sanitation knowledge



Scheduling, training, and staff development



Opening and closing procedures



Upselling and guest-experience best practices



4. Personal Qualities



Professional appearance and attitude



Reliable and punctual



Organized and detail-oriented



Ability to multitask



Positive and customer-focused



5. Education & Certifications (varies)



High school diploma or equivalent (usually required)



Food safety certification (ServSafe or local equivalent) often preferred



Hospitality/business coursework is a plus but not mandatory
