What Would You Do?

Palliser Furniture Ltd. is currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to fill the role of Foamshop 2 (Gluer). The successful candidate will be part of the packing team and contribute to the efficiency of our operation.

The duties and responsibilities of this position would include:

Get batch order from supervisor. Select products to be glued from the supply foam wagon. Check assembly application by viewing product style from computer skus. Confirm correct components by measuring the pieces to be assembled as per spec from the sku illustrated on the computer. Check to ensure spray gun is clean and working properly. Make sure air suction fan is turned on (the switch is on the right-hand side of each boot) and working. Apply glue to foam pieces and fiber using proper gluing procedure. Press glued edges together to bond them, and check edges to ensure the bond is holding. Place finished product on the distribution wagon. Able to sort products on the line when needed. Push wagon to docking location. Keep work area clean and organized. Follow all safety procedures. Able to support other departments if needed.

Basic computer skills and ability to follow written instructions Responsible and safe work habits. Be a team player. Strong organization skills and attention to detail in all areas of work. Strong work ethic and positive team attitude. Familiar with measurements both in Imperial & Metric. Flexible and available for scheduled overtime. Experience using Olfa utility knife, screw gun, tape gun, and lift table. Ability to stand, crouch, bend, reach, and stoop for long periods of time. Requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi-limb coordination. Capable of lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds, as this position requires lifting, bending, and moderate physical exertion.
