We are hiring!! Are you a motivated team player with an eye for color, trends and flowers? We are searching for that special someone to fill the role of a floral designer. Job duties include predominantly custom floral design for everyday, funerals, events, weddings, etc. Processing and proper care of cut flowers and plants on a daily basis. Excellent customer service is a must,- able to take customer orders online, on the phone, and in person. Must be able to work well with customers and provide a warm environment, a welcoming atmosphere, in a professional manner. Working with potential customers for large scale events, from start to finish, including consultation, proposal, quote and customized design. Planning, preparing and delivery of floral workshops, on-site and off.

Other tasks: Must be able to deliver, as this duty is shared amongst all employees. General office duties may be requested. Ability to assist in cafe when needed. Manage gift shop when necessary. Cleaning of shop and business. Minor tasks and errands may be requested at times.

Experience: Previous floral design experience preferred, but not necessary. Retail/customer service in some capacity required. Ideally a person who is up to date with trends within the floral industry.

Required: A class 5 drivers license, and a clean driver's abstract. Must be physically fit and able to work long hours, standing, some heavy lifting. Must be willing to get ProServe.

Growth & Development: Must commit to continued education. Expected to attend various conferences, design shows, courses, and workshops to encourage self improvement and stay on trend.

Additional assets: Excellent communication skills, computer literacy, knowledge of social media, ability to work individually, and as a team. Be innovative, passionate, and excited about this career.

Hours: 20 hours to start, but we would like to grow this into a full time position. Must be able to work 2 Saturdays a month, and more during blackout dates. Ability to work 2 night a month for workshops, and more during blackout periods. Blackout dates - December 12-24, Feb 6-14, May 1-12, longer hours may be required during this time. Potential for a couple of Sundays for design show, or markets.

Compensation: To be determined based on experience, performance and flexibility. Commitment to education will positively impact your wage. Remuneration is based on an hourly rate, paid monthly.
