Under the general supervision of the Manager of Design and within established policies, procedures and guidelines, the Floral Designer is required to create floral designs, conduct customer consultations and oversee the Corporate floral programs. Provides assistance with store merchandising and seasonal displays. Assist with beatification of NPC venues offering ideas and changes to decor including set-up. In addition, collects, secures and records revenue resulting from transactions. Niagara Parks offers an hourly rate of $23.56 per hour to $28.96 per hour as well as a comprehensive benefit and pension plan. Applications for this position will be accepted until January 23, 2023. QUALIFICATIONS

• Education: Successfully completed a Floral Design Certificate and/or equivalent knowledge and experience. A recognized Horticulture diploma would be considered an asset. Level 2 Floral Design Certificate considered an asset. Knowledge and ability to create original floral arrangements/bouquets and interior design concepts. General knowledge of horticultural retail products and related plant material. Knowledge of cash register and cash handling and basic record keeping skills. Knowledge of and ability to prepare quotes and contracts for clients. Knowledge of NPC facilities and services; interpersonal and communication skills; customer service skills; knowledge of relevant health and safety procedures.
• Experience: Requires a minimum of one year of full-time experience in related floral design experience, plus one year on the job. Previous experience in a retail environment an asset. Extensive theoretical and applied experience and knowledge of floral design and techniques. Knowledge and ability to create original floral arrangements/bouquets and interior design concepts. Knowledge and ability to prepare quotes and contracts for clients. General knowledge of horticultural retail products and related plant material.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Creates floral designs and customer service of wedding clientele.
• Prepares initial, revised and final quotes and contracts for clients.
• Conducts customer consultations regarding various floral requirements.
• Provides store merchandising and seasonal displays.
• Assists with beatification of NPC venues offering ideas and changes to decor including set-up.
• Liaises with the Wedding department on photo shoots, wedding shows etc.
• Manages the daily cash transactions including floats, imprest funds, daily change orders and is accountable for any discrepancies
• Records and processes cash register readings and completes all reports and daily log entries.
• Assists in watering and fertilizing of plant material.
• Assists in the set-up of floral and tropical displays in the gift shop and NPC venues.
• Ensures the facility is locked up including vent adjustment, plant misting, securing all entrances, adjusting of frame covers, final water check.
• Assists occasionally within the Floral Showhouse Garden Shop processing sales and assisting with customer service.
• Complies with all applicable legislation as well as any related policies and procedures.
• Follows all health and safety procedures and policies.
• Provides friendly customer service to both internal and external guests.
• Promotes a positive image of NPC.
