What We Are Looking For:





This role is ideal for someone who is a self-starter and thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will support the preparation and completion of a wide range of legal documents. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with different lawyers across the firm, gaining exposure to diverse practice areas and building valuable experience.


Responsibilities:




Assist in the preparation and completion of various litigation documentation such as motion records, pleadings, notices, affidavits, affidavits of documents, bill of costs and cost outlines Handle administrative details with respect to accounting, opening and closing files, docketing, and billing, etc. Prepare and complete all necessary correspondence and documentation Communicate professionally with all internal and external clients Able and willing to work in a variety of different practice areas Produce the highest quality of work Accountable for all work assigned Takes initiative Confidential

Requirements:




Five years' experience as a legal assistant in Litigation Successful completion of a post-secondary Law Clerk / Legal Assistant program Knowledge of various courts with a knowledge of the Federal Court Rules Strong knowledge of the Rules of Civil Procedure*
Knowledge of Caseline and ACL considered an asset Handle time pressure situations and stress of multiple demands

Microsoft 365 suite of applications Strong verbal and written communication Ability to problem solve Good judgement and decision making Strong interpersonal skills Organized Resourceful Detailed
