POSITION SUMMARY:



The Flight Crew Dispatcher serves as the primary point of contact between GSH's Operations Department and aircrews stationed at remote locations, including sub-bases, mine sites, and client camps. Based at GSH OCC hub, this role is responsible for coordinating and scheduling flight crews, ensuring efficient crew deployment and compliance with company and client standards. Key duties include managing crew rosters, arranging travel logistics, and maintaining open communication with clients, flight crews, operations and maintenance personnel. The Dispatcher monitors all crew activity for safety, efficiency, and regulatory compliance, and logs all communications and operational changes. This role is critical in maintaining operational effectiveness and delivering high-quality service to GSH clients.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:



Handle all facets of day-to-day flight operations, ensuring smooth and efficient flight scheduling.

Manage logistics planning, including coordinating ground support for departing and arriving aircraft.

Operate in a fast-paced environment while maintaining the daily flight schedule and keeping relevant personnel informed with trip information.

Assist with the coordination of all aspects of flight operations, from scheduling to execution.

Maintain a listing of all on-duty and off-duty aircrew (flight and maintenance) staff, with a general understanding of their capabilities and qualifications.

Ensure assigned aircrew meet the client standards for minimum aircrew qualifications, currency, recency, and flight and duty regulations.

Communicate effectively with flight crews, ensuring rotation schedules are kept updated daily and coordinating any necessary changes.

Coordinate aircrew travel assignments through GSH Travel, ensuring information is communicated clearly to both the crew and client representatives at inbound sites.

Maintain open communication channels with Operations and Maintenance Managers to ensure smooth operations.

Ensure that all HOC department schedules are aligned with the requirements set out in the Flight Dispatch Manual.

Be responsible for managing and administrating the Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) system.

Attend to phones and radios, ensuring all communications are handled efficiently.

Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Operations.

REQUIREMENTS:



Formal Education Requirements



Grade 12 education, post-secondary education in a related field, is preferred.

Related Work Experience Requirements



Experience in CARS 702 / 703 and Type C Dispatch.

Strong Geographical knowledge of Northern and Western Canada.

Experience dispatching in NT/YT/NU is considered an Asset

Experience in dispatching rotary wing is an asset

Type B dispatch experience is considered an asset.

Licenses / Certificate Requirements / Courses



Radio License (Canadian)

Valid driver's license

Previous experience in a similar role or environment is a valuable asset.

Remote camp experience, utilizing helicopters is an asset.
