Job Overview



We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented

Fleet Gatehouse Attendant

to support daily fleet operations at our facility. This front-line role plays a critical part in monitoring vehicle movement, ensuring accurate record-keeping, and maintaining clear communication between drivers, fleet personnel, and safety teams.

The Gatehouse Attendant acts as the first point of contact for incoming and outgoing drivers, assists with equipment tracking, and helps enforce compliance with company policies and safety standards.

The ideal candidate will be highly organized, customer-service focused, and capable of working effectively in a fast-paced, logistics-driven environment. This role requires a strong sense of responsibility, the ability to multitask, and a working knowledge of transportation and fleet operations.

Key Responsibilities:



Receive and forward incident and accident statements; distribute official communications from management to drivers. Act as a liaison between the on-site mechanic, shuttle driver, and Fleet Systems/Asset Administrator to report and resolve fleet-related issues. Monitor yard for vehicle damage, document with photos, and report to Safety and Management via email. Manage the red-tagging process for tractors in collaboration with the on-site mechanic. Enter driver and truck data into TMW system; report unexpected absences or unscheduled arrivals. Track and replenish in-cab driver supplies (seals, run sheets, first aid kits, etc.) and notify when stock is low. Support drivers with locating tractors, understanding dispatch instructions, and interpreting the resource run sheet. Monitor the Keyper system to manage key withdrawals/returns and prevent idle equipment; notify dispatch of low fleet availability.

Qualifications & Skills:



Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent required

Experience:

1-2 years in a logistics, dispatch, fleet, or transportation support role Knowledge of trucking equipment and yard operations Proficient in basic computer applications and data entry (TMW system experience is an asset) Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment Customer service-oriented with strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to lift up to 35 lbs occasionally Comfortable working indoors and outdoors with occasional exposure to yard conditions.

Working Conditions:



Combination of office (gatehouse) and yard environment Occasional exposure to outdoor weather, noise, and moving vehicles Periods of sitting, standing, walking, and light lifting involved

Compensation:

$21.10 per hour

Shift Schedule:



Nights:

Sunday to Thursday, 11:00 PM - 7:30 AM

Afternoons:

Saturday & Sunday, 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM
