We are currently providing an opportunity for a well-rounded safety focused individual to join our team in the position of Fitter-Welder at our Brookside Manufacturing Facility.

About You:

The ideal candidate will be someone who is passionate about safety, doesn\xe2\x80\x99t shy away from a challenge and is comfortable working in an environment where the noise level can be excessive at times.

About the Position:

Aside from the excitement of working in a busy manufacturing facility, the essential duties and responsibilities of this position include:

• Promoting and adhering to our safety and respectful workplace culture and instilling this culture in the station while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance with all Government Labour, Health and Safety laws, regulations and policies.
• Follow established Standard Operating Procedures (SOP\xe2\x80\x99s) and HAVE ZERO TOLERANCE FOR UNSAFE ACTS!;
• Plan and carry out work assignments and handle problems in accordance with instructions, policies, previous training or accepted company practices and procedures;
• Interprets construction drawings (blueprints and general layouts);
• Fitting various metals such as carbon, stainless steel and aluminum;
• Designing and constructing jigs and templates when required;
• Set up and operation of GMAW, FCAW, SMAW, GTAW welding applications;
• Keep all Inland owned or managed equipment, tools and materials in good working condition, including keeping clean and returning to assigned storage areas when not in use;
• Promptly and accurately complete all associated paperwork as required;
• Perform/complete other additional projects, duties, and assignments as required and/or by management request.

Qualifications:

• 2 year Welding Diploma;
• Red Seal/Journeyperson considered an asset;
• 3 \xe2\x80\x93 5 years experience with fitting from blueprints and general layouts;
• Experience with carbon, stainless steel and aluminum tig welding is mandatory;
• 3 \xe2\x80\x93 5 years welding experience;
• Experience with core manufacturing processes (Acetylene cutting, scarfing & welding, plasma arc cutting, hydro testing pipe, etc.);
• Experience and ability to inspect parts with a focus on best-in-class quality control;
• Read, write, speak and communicate effectively;
• Basic computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft programs including Outlook, Word, and Excel;
• Excellent organizational and time management skills;
• Must possess a strong work ethic, positive attitude, with an ability to motivate and work in a team environment;
• Willing to learn new skills and adapt to change in order to support the growth of the company and meet needs of customers.
