Job Description

• Scope of Work - Individual will be responsible for building jigs and fixtures for hi production runs.

Major Responsibilities & Qualifications

• Design, Build & modify fixtures and jigs with minimum supervision to achieve maximum production levels.
• Make first of samples and Lay-out of parts for approval according to the drawings & instructions
• Lay out, fit, and fabricate metal components to assemble structural forms, such as machinery frames, bridge parts,
• Fit structural members and plate for the welder to achieve production levels
• Read and interpret drawings
• To ensure that the jigs & fixtures with achieve an output of parts within tolerance and as per the drawings or sample provided
• Working hands-on with other welders and engineering to best suit jigs for production.
• Understand welds, ensure that welding codes and symbols have been understood and welding conforms to the codes/symbols on the drawings.
• Build welded assemblies for new products and changes to existing products per engineering documents and established production standards.
• Preparing and setup of necessary tools and equipment for welding jobs.
• Propose potential quality or productivity enhancements i.e. continual improvements
• Report fabrication issues and assist in resolutions as required.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 10 years experience as a welder with CWB TICKETS
• Minimum 5 years experience as a fitter

Experience:

• GMAW WELDING CWB CERTIFICATE: 10 years (required)
• JIG / FIXTURE MAKING: 5 years (required)
• HIGH VOLUME PRODUCTION WELDING: 5 years (required)
• FITTING SUB ASSEMBLIES IN A JIGDING: 5 years (required)
• FCAW WELDING WITH CWB TICKET: 5 years (required)
• WELDING FCAW: 5 years (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

• CWB TICKETS - GMAW (preferred)
