WONDERING WHAT YOU\'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR?
Your role will require you to bring a high standard of scientific excellence to your daily work. These responsibilities will be in your domain:
  • Leading the sampling design, planning, and implementation of ecological studies focused on fisheries and aquatic resources
  • Conducting data handling, summaries, and analysis, including a variety of statistical and modelling approaches to draw conclusions on environmental and ecological conditions
  • Summarizing and visualizing results through tables and figures
  • Clearly communicating methods, results, and interpretations of your work in written reports and presentations to clients, regulators, Indigenous groups, and stakeholders
  • Working as a member of an interdisciplinary team, collaborating with your colleagues to maximize work productivity and quality

THE QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS WE ARE LOOKING FOR.
  • M.Sc. or Ph.D. in aquatic or fisheries science
  • RPBio., or relevant professional designation, or eligible
  • Effective analytical and technical writing skills with the ability to produce high-quality reports and proposals
  • 5+ years of technical, consulting experience is required, experience in a discipline lead role is an asset
  • Experience with writing environmental assessments and permit applications, in particular Fisheries Act Authorizations
  • Knowledge of federal and provincial environmental assessment legislation is an asset
