ABOUT THE JOB

Reporting to the Fish Health Manager, this position is a crucial part of our operations process and ensures the best welfare of our salmon in a sustainable and efficient way. In this role you will provide a high degree of competency in maintaining established standards of safety, quality and accuracy.
The main job duties of the Fish Health Technician include Marine Sea Site visits to complete regulatory sampling, receiving and processing samples in lab, performing diagnostics to aid in fish health decisions, biosecurity auditing, Assisting/overseeing lice counts and treatments. There is also a requirement to maintain accurate records, complete visit reports and ensure accurate data entry across several platforms. Visits to freshwater facilities will also be required to collect health surveillance sampling, vaccination and brood stock sampling. As part of the role there is a requirement to promote a safe and positive work environment and maintain the company's high standards of fish health and welfare. As part of the fish health team, you will be supported but need to be resourceful with a self-reliant approach and do well under your own initiative.

Relevant post-secondary education and/or experience in Aquaculture and/or Fish Health
Data collection and entry accuracy
Record and document management proficiency

A positive attitude and willingness to learn
Physical ability to complete repetitive tasks
Ability to work safely and effectively in challenging outdoor weather
Flexible approach to working to meet the demands of the job

Willing to travel to other maritime locations
