CIBC Capital Markets Investment Banking group provides equity and debt underwriting as well as corporate finance advisory services to corporations. CIBC\xe2\x80\x99s Investment Banking group of professionals are dedicated specifically to advising clients on mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, hostile takeovers, buyouts, takeover defense and restructurings. There is an extensive amount of interaction with other groups within the firm in order to provide clients with customized financing and advisory solutions.
The role of an Associate within CIBC\xe2\x80\x99s Investment Banking group is challenging and fast-paced. As an Associate on our Global Investment Banking team you will be making a real difference to our clients by helping to provide customized financing and advisory solutions. You will be expected to provide a broad range of analytical, research and presentation preparation support to all the professionals within the group as well as mentoring the group\xe2\x80\x99s analysts.
With offices located in Canada, the United States, Europe, Asia and Australia, our Global Investment Banking group provides equity and debt underwriting as well as corporate finance advisory services to corporations and institutions through several industry and product groups. This is a great opportunity to be a part of a group of professionals ranging from Analysts to Managing Directors who are dedicated to advising clients on infrastructure and project finance and mergers and acquisitions.

How you\xe2\x80\x99ll succeed


  • Project management \xcc\xb6 Assist in analyzing and developing proposals to clients and potential clients for mergers, asset or company divestitures or acquisitions, and other financial products and advisory services. Prepare industry and financial analysis to determine client recommendations
  • Relationship building \xcc\xb6 Participate in cross-functional teams and liaise with other units of CIBC Capital Markets in executing mandates or preparing proposals for clients
  • Research and analytics \xe2\x80\x93 Lead a broad range of analytical, research and presentation preparation support to the team including preparing of offering memoranda and marketing materials along with industry comparables and precedent transaction analyses.

REQUIREMENTS

  • You must be currently enrolled in a MBA or Master\xe2\x80\x99s program in Business, Commerce, Finance, Economics or a related program with a graduation date no sooner than December 2024. Please indicate your expected graduation date on your resume
