As a world leader in the design and manufacturing industry, Active Dynamics is seeking an eager enthusiastic experienced Finished Goods Assistant Manager to join our successful Toronto team immediately. We are looking for a talent with solid professional skills in the manufacturing environment.

The Finished Goods Assistant Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the finished goods & LCC areas, ensuring the timely delivery of parts to internal stakeholders while maintaining inventory accuracy. This role involves managing a team, optimizing workflows and implementing quality control measures to streamline operations and meet production goals efficiently.

This position reports to the Warehouse Manager.

What you will be doing:

  • Ensure Health and Safety Policies and Procedures are being adhered to as well as complying with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and its regulations and enforcement of same.
  • Maintain the inventory of all raw kitting materials and products.
  • Support in initiatives to maximize efficiency and meet performance and inventory accuracy objectives.
  • Participate in daily Production meetings to ensure that the department is following the production schedule & implements corrective action to prevent deviations and meet due dates.
  • Support the planning and implementation of changes to machinery and equipment, production systems and method of work. This may include involvement in the planning and procurement of new equipment and machinery and related processes.
  • Supervise and coordinate distribution activities to ensure efficient and timely delivery of goods.
  • Develop and implement quality control procedures to maintain product standards and specifications for kitting goods.
  • Assist with space management within the FG/LCC areas.
  • Develop strategies to address and manage aging inventory, minimizing financial impact and obsolescence risks.
  • Supervise finished good teams and their schedules to ensure smooth operations and adherence to production schedules.
  • Maintain an efficient system for tracking all FG assets while providing insights for process improvement.
  • Develop, maintain, and document comprehensive SOPs for various processes.
  • Plan and manage the in/outbound flow of finished good/LCC items, ensuring accurate and timely deliveries to meet demands.
  • Establish protocols for managing and documenting adjustments to maintain accuracy.
  • Identify root causes of issues through analysis and investigation of discrepancies or errors.
  • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among teams for efficient cross-team coverage.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
What you bring along:
  • 7+ years of experience in kitting operations or inventory management, with some experience in a leadership role.
  • Post-Secondary Education in a technical field or equivalent. Minimum grade 12 completed.
  • Previous experience managing employees in a unionized facility.
  • Strong problem-solving skills coupled with knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Strong leadership, coaching and team-building skills.
  • Verbal and written communication skills, including presenting and facilitating team meetings
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and successfully manage multiple responsibilities.
  • ERP systems experience is a must and proficient with Microsoft Office
