Job is based in Calgary and all work is local. We have a busy season ahead of us and are seeking to hire high-quality talent with applicable industry experience and knowledge. Reporting to the site Foreman, the Skid steer Operator is responsible for working with ground personnel and other operators to manipulate materials to get areas to grade. Previous experience grading gravel with a skid steer within 10mm tolerance for the purpose of placing asphalt and concrete is a must.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



Must be able to operate a Skid steer to finish gravel for asphalt paving and concrete placement. Ability to operate other equipment considered an asset. Behaves in a manner that ensures the safety of themselves, their co-workers, and others on the work sites. Refuses all unsafe work and immediately reports all unsafe conditions and behaviours to their supervisor. Attends and participates in toolbox and safety meetings. Reports incidents, injuries, and near misses. Assists other employees with ground work when required. Adheres to company policies, procedures, and directions regarding standards of workplace behaviour in completing job duties and assignments. Complies with the standards and procedures of North Star's health and safety manual and Occupational Health and Safety regulations.

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES



Minimum 3-year experience as a Skidsteer Operator. Strong safety sense and awareness. Knowledge of heavy equipment operations and site activities. Hand-eye coordination. Active Construction Safety Training System (CSTS2020) Certification. Ground Disturbance Level 2 Understand and follow verbal and written directions. Strong work ethic with demonstrated dedication and reliability. Problem solver Must be able to work as a member of a greater team.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT



Must have own transportation. Must be able to operate a Skid steer efficiently. Must be able to work long hours and weekends. Must have CSA-approved safety boots. Must be able to sit for a long period of time in a bouncing seat. Must be able to constantly look around verifying surroundings.?

Pay: Up to $34.00 per hour
