Avenue Living Asset Management Ltd. (\xe2\x80\x9cAvenue Living\xe2\x80\x9d) is looking for a Financial Reporting Analyst to join our team. Since 2006, we have acquired $4.25 billion in assets under management across a variety of sectors throughout Canada and the USA. The company is privately owned and led by a strong management team with institutional and entrepreneurial backgrounds. The team is looking to add a high-functioning, well-rounded, and hard-working professional to complement the existing team. The Financial Reporting Analyst will be responsible for developing internal and external financial statements and reports while ensuring that all documentation and transactions are in compliance with IFRS. The role will play an integral part in the preparation of journal entries, and sales tax filings, and will prepare and analyze financial results. WHAT WILL YOU DO?
  • Prepare monthly journal entries and perform bank and GL account reconciliations
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual internal and external financial statements, while ensuring the highest quality, reliability, and accuracy
  • Compile and analyze financial information for business units and perform variance analysis
  • Provide support, coordination, address and respond to queries from auditors and internal reviewers, while taking ownership of issues and ensuring a successful resolution
  • Prepare year-end working papers and schedules for the annual Financial Audit
  • Assist in the preparation of sales tax filings
  • Identify opportunities to automate, streamline and further develop reporting processes
  • Perform verification and reconciliation of accounts, while verifying bank deposits and payments, and ensuring that timely follow-up action is taken according to corporate standards
  • Work collaboratively with the accounting group and operations staff to ensure transactions match funds received and sent while providing rent payment reconciliation support
WHAT WILL YOU NEED?
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree in Accounting or Finance is considered an asset
  • 1-3 years of practical experience
  • Experience with bank reconciliations
  • YARDI experience is considered an asset
  • Intermediate MS Excel skills
  • Ability to work with a large volume of daily transactions
  • Strong attention to detail, ability to work independently, excellent organizational skills, and ability to multi-task
