Job Description


As DAC Group\xe2\x80\x99s Financial Planning Manager you will provide financial expertise and apply your business acumen to support both long and short-term strategic planning for the company. The successful candidate will execute core planning processes related to all aspects of budgeting, forecasting, planning, reporting and analysis. Position Accountabilities:

Financial Planning and Reporting

  • Assist in the development of short and long-term strategic plans for the companies.
  • Work with departments, units, and branch offices in the development of the annual budgets and reforecasts.
  • Assist in building the story around variances to plan and in the creation of action plans to overcome any budget/reforecast shortfalls.
  • Identify potential opportunities and make recommendations to drive improved revenue or gross margin, and to identify cost savings and / or incremental value that can optimize DAC\xe2\x80\x99s financial position.
  • Prepare management and executive reports to support and control income and expenses against DAC\xe2\x80\x99s short and long-term financial plans.
Cash Management
  • Prepare cash flow and monitor liquidity position of pertinent DAC Group companies to ensure the leadership team has appropriate visibility to short and long-term cash flows.
  • Support and recommend how to invest excess funds to minimize cash holdings and maximize interest income.
  • Liaises with credit department and assist in ensuring customer and vendor terms are being maintained; Identify opportunities for improving methods of collection.
Accounting/Finance Administration
  • Initiate and provide guidance for management decisions including ad hoc analysis for both the Operations as well as the Finance leadership groups.
  • Monitor to ensure that transactions adhere to Finance policies and procedures, and conform to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and to DAC Group\xe2\x80\x99s internal control standards.
  • Review all client contracts and rebate agreements for completeness and appropriate authorization.
  • Make recommendations for opportunities to improve efficiencies at DAC Group.
  • Review monthly AR Provision with the Treasury Manager.
Financial Analysis
  • Investigate and conduct appropriate variance analyses on all areas based on deviations of actual results vs. budget/reforecast.
  • Conduct client profitability studies for existing client base.
  • Conduct profitability and scenario analyses for new business opportunities and / or new clients.
Position Requirements:
  • A passion for helping to drive an already-successful and growing company forward and the determination to see plans through to fruition
  • A minimum of three (3) years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in Finance business partnership and / or financial planning, forecasting, and analysis
  • University degree with a Major in Business, Finance, or Accounting
  • A Professional Accounting Designation (e.g. CGA, CMA, CA) is an asset
  • Superior analytical abilities and organizational skills
  • Strategic approach to planning
  • High integrity
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to maintain relationships with external and internal clients
  • Excellent communication abilities \xe2\x80\x93 verbal and written
  • Knowledge of Excel\xe2\x80\x99s advanced functions (will be tested as part of the recruitment process)
