We're looking for a two Financial Planner Associates to support our Business Process Management team.

These are full-time temporary positions for one year.

The Financial Planner Associate is a member of the dynamic Wealth Management Support Services team. They play an integral role in the delivery of superior personalized service to our valued member owners. The primary accountability of this role is to assist the Financial Planner(s) with member service, wealth planning and financial plans.

An effective Financial Planner Associate enables growth by being efficient in managing the day to day calendar requests and administration of financial planning requirements on behalf of the Financial Planner, allowing the Financial Planner to optimize time with members and sourcing new business opportunities.

The Financial Planner Associate maintains a high level of knowledge relating to our products and services, sales processes and compliance. As a Financial Planner Associate you strive for excellence in communication and organization. The Financial Planner Associate plays a vital role in making Servus easy to do business with, enhancing the member experience, and the growth and profitability of our credit union.

Areas of Responsibilities:

Member Focus

  • Assist the Financial Planner by supporting the delivery of the full financial planning experience towealth members with assets from $100,000 - $500,000.
  • Respond to all members, team and partner inquiries promptly and proactively providing professional, friendly, competent, and courteous service at all times.
  • Manage Financial Planner(s) calendar for all member and business development meetings.
  • Complete appointment confirmations.
  • Complete meeting preparation according to each meeting agenda.
  • Assess, manage, and track incoming referrals.
  • Complete pre-discovery and provide update on referrals within 48 hours, ensuring member appointments are set for Financial Planner.
  • Respond to member complaints within assigned limits, with follow-up on issues/opportunities as required, ensuring member complaints are handled in accordance with our service standards, escalating issues when necessary.
  • Assist with the coordination (venue, guest speakers) and proactively invite and follow up to confirm attendees, guest speakers, etc. for seminar and member appreciation events.
  • Maintain up to date Financial Planning and investment industry knowledge by participating in training programs/industry courses to upgrade skills, obtain and maintain accreditation and licensing requirements as applicable.
Financial Results
  • Assist the Financial Planner to achieve and exceed assigned sales and referral goals in the following areas:
  • Growth of the book of business
  • Revenue
  • Asset Gathering
  • Sales/renewals of solutions to meet member needs, including Servus Term Deposits
  • Life Insurance
  • Member segmentation
  • Referrals to internal partners - retail, business banking and other channels as appropriate
  • Tracking & Reporting of Referrals Received/Sent
  • Participate enthusiastically in, and assist in the creation and execution of corporate and branch campaigns, and marketing/business development plans.
  • Be aware and communicate sales opportunities to the Financial Planner.
Financial Planning and Practice Management Support
  • Provide direct sales support to Financial Planner(s).
  • Know the steps and requirements of each step in the Wealth Management Process
  • Support each step of the Wealth Management Process by providing calendar management, meeting preparation, financial plan creation and implementation support.
  • Input Naviplan(s) and provide plan management support.
  • Contribute positively to growth by enabling the Financial Planner to do more for our members.
Working In Teams
  • Provide support to Financial Planner(s) and Wealth Management Support Services team.
  • Participate actively in wealth/work unit and credit union meetings.
  • Contribute positively by fostering good morale and a cohesive working environment that is fun, positive and productive.
  • Maintain a responsive and respectful relationship with support departments.
  • Recognize and celebrate team successes.
  • Work collaboratively to accomplish common goals.
Risk Management
  • Ensure all corporate policies, procedures and guidelines are adhered to including compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements to mitigate the risk of loss to the Credit Union and members (e.g., Compliance, money laundering, privacy, etc.).
  • Mitigate risk of loss by maintaining timely, effective controls and follow up.
  • Ensure necessary due diligence is taken to support the accuracy of all member transactions.
  • Make recommendations to take necessary action on issues or concerns arising from daily trade reviews and audits.

Requirements

Experience:
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in the wealth industry including securities and compliance.
  • Knowledge of financial planning, products, policies, procedures, and operations.
  • Solid administration, sales support and organizational skills.
Education and Training:
  • High School Diploma.
  • Finance related post-secondary is an asset.
  • Thorough understanding of financial products and services.
Optional Licenses/Certificates:
  • IFC or Canadian Securities Course
  • Mutual Fund License
  • Financial Planning Courses
Any other special requirements necessary to do the job:

Weekend or shift work, available to travel, etc.

The business may from time to time ask for branch and/or department support for special projects and/or areas experiencing staff shortages. All employees may be asked to volunteer to assist in areas of need during these times. These assignments could result in a change of hours, location, and/or travel.
