INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL POSTING Priority shall be given to qualified Cree beneficiaries OPEN POSITION Financial Officer LOCATION OF WORK MISTISSINI \xe2\x80\x93 FINANCE DEPARTMENT NATURE OF WORK Under the supervision of the Coordinator of Finance, the position of Financial Officer comprises all the duties related to the realization of the various financial activities of the School Board, assistance to the management staff of the administrative units and, in terms of financial management, the supervision and the realisation of various special projects. Works in various sectors or from various aspects of financial management, especially, among others, budgetary and financial forecasts and controls, internal audit, and the preparation of financial reports. Works with the Coordinator of Finance. CHARACTERISTIC FUNCTIONS More specifically, this position includes the following responsibilities: Collaborate, analyse, evaluate, and apply the professional techniques related to the accounting operations, financial as well statistical. Proceed to the analysis of the revenue and expenses accounts and prepare reports; gather and analyse the budgetary demands, participate to the establishment and the revision of the annual budget, and propose recommendations if necessary. Apply the norms applicable to the Public Sector; project the operation costs; control the budget and accounting transactions; budgetary follow up during the year and prepare reports. Prepare and supervise the accounting entries, verify its conformity, responsible of the verification of the accounts payable of capital projects and accounts receivables. Collaborate to the preparation of various interim financial reports and annual reports and analyse them. Create and develop working tools, as well as planning and budgetary control tools or reporting to be used by the personnel; prepare and animate information sessions and internal training sessions. Participate in the development, analysis and the application of policies governing healthy financial administration practices by the means of tight tracking of financial transactions. Participate to the development and the realisation of the special projects and action plans of the department of Finance. Collaborate to the elaboration of a recommended training plan offered to the Finance employees, as well as to other services if applicable. All other related duties and responsibilities assigned to this position by the Coordinator of Finance. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree in accounting. Professional accounting title is an asset (CPA). Knowledge of 2 of the 3 official languages of the Board (French, English and Cree). EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS & SALARY Regular Full-Time. 35 hrs/week BEGINNING OF EMPLOYMENT As soon as possible.
