FINANCIAL COORDINATOR

Canadian Niagara Power Inc. (CNPI), located in beautiful Fort Erie, is looking for a Financial Coordinator to perform a wide range of analytical accounting duties for the FortisOntario group of companies including but not limited to accounts payable and vendor management, audit analysis and reporting requirements, and departmental support. This role reports into our Manager, Financial Reporting and offers a flexible hybrid in-office and remote work arrangement. The successful candidate will have strong analytical and financial systems troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities and work well in a team environment.

Key functions of the role:

  • Review, validation of completeness, and verify accuracy of invoices, credit memos received and managed within the software system.
  • Support, report and resolve questions with invoice owners.
  • Write query reports within the software to manage information.
  • Provide software training and support to other departments.
  • Review, investigate and troubleshoot log errors received during capture process and import/export process.
  • Reconcile accounts payable ledger to ensure that all bills, credits, and payments are accounted for and properly posted.
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliation and supporting documentation.
  • Prepare and post journal entries.
  • Interdepartmental support and coverage as required.
What makes you a successful candidate?
  • Post secondary education in Business Administration, specializing in accounting and/or finance.
  • Minimum of 3 years related work experience in corporate accounting environment.
  • Possess a high level of attention to detail, confidentiality, and professionalism.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize multiple responsibilities and meet required deadlines.
  • Strong computer skills, including but not limited to Microsoft Office, SAP and Concur would be an asset.
  • Excellent team player with the ability to work well independently.
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication skills.
  • Must hold and maintain a valid Ontario class \xe2\x80\x9cG\xe2\x80\x9d driver\'s license with a clean driving abstract.
