Yukon First Nation's Wildfire (YFNW) is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Financial Controller to join our team. This full-time position offers an exciting opportunity to support a dynamic, growing organization grounded in Indigenous values, operational excellence, and community impact.

Key Responsibilities:

This is a hands-on role that covers the full spectrum of financial management--from high-level strategy to day-to-day detail. Responsibilities include:

Overseeing all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting Managing the day-to-day financials: processing payroll, accounts payable/receivable, and bank reconciliations Entering and organizing receipts, invoices, and supporting documents Supporting project-based tracking and financial reporting Preparing financial statements and liaising with auditors Ensuring compliance with regulations and internal controls Contributing to strategic financial planning and organizational decision-making

Qualifications:

Strong experience in financial management, accounting, or bookkeeping--CPA designation is welcome but equivalent hands-on experience is equally valued Strong background in day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting practices Highly organized with strong attention to detail Comfortable working independently while being an active part of a collaborative, in-office team environment, with potential for remote work Experience using the following tools: QuickBooks Payworks Plooto Microsoft Office (especially Excel, Outlook, Word)
