Hopehill--Living in Community is searching for a financial controller. We are a 70-year-old, not for profit society, that provides affordable housing for low-income seniors in Vancouver. We operate in the Hastings Sunrise neighbourhood. 275 independent seniors and 95 assisted living seniors call Hopehill "home". We operate with a staff of 20 and contract care services and food services. Hopehill is affiliated with the Canadian Baptists of Western Canada (CBWC).

Job Summary: The controller is responsible for overseeing all aspects of Hopehill's accounting operations, including financial planning, analysis, budgeting, internal controls, and reporting, ensuring the accuracy and compliance of financial statements while providing strategic reports to senior management to maintain the company's financial health

Qualifications:

1. CPA with 10 years' experience in accounting work. Currently a member in good standing with the CPABC.

2. Good working knowledge of the SAGE accounting software.

3. Ability to work in a team environment (coworking, training others, delegating)

4. Available full time, 5 day per week, in an onsite position.

5. Able to work in a not for profit organization and able to interface with other agencies including: CRA (charitable work), BC Housing (partnerships), Vancouver Coastal Health (partnerships) etc.

The Successful Candidate will report to the CFO of the organization.

Start date: as available.

Salary in keeping with industry norms and experience
