Controller

to join our Finance team in Vancouver or Regina. As Controller, you will oversee Hillberg & Berk's day-to-day accounting functions and be accountable for all company accounting operations. This includes producing periodic financial reports, maintaining accounting record systems, and upholding a comprehensive set of controls to mitigate risk, enhance accuracy, and ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

What you can expect in the role

Oversee daily accounting operations and ensure compliance with GAAP. Lead and develop the Finance team, including recruitment and performance management. Produce timely financial reports and statements. Manage accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations, and cash flow. Drive process improvements and automation in accounting practices. Guide financial decisions by enforcing policies and procedures. Lead budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis. Lead year-end annual review process with external accountants and review annual tax filings Develop and maintain internal controls and ensure confidentiality of financial information. Collaborate with senior leadership and contribute to risk management. Ensure compliance with accounting legislation and company policies.

Experience and Qualifications

Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 7 to 10 years of relevant experience, including manufacturing cost accounting. CPA, CMA, CGA, or CA designation required. Proficiency in planning, analysis, reporting, Microsoft Office Previous experience in a retail organization is an asset.


Salary Range Starting At: $80,000
