Job Scope
We are seeking a skilled Financial Controller to manage and oversee the company's financial operations, including financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with accounting standards, handling complex financial transactions, and supporting the preparation of financial statements. You will also provide guidance to junior finance team members and assist in risk management and internal controls.
Main Responsibilities
Oversee the accurate processing of payroll, ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.
Prepare and maintain financial records, ensuring accuracy and adherence to accounting standards.
Manage month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
Monitor and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded.
Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial reports to support business decision-making.
Ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations, including preparing and filing tax returns and coordinating with external auditors.
Collaborate with other departments to gather necessary financial information for reporting and analysis.
Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accounting staff, ensuring adherence to best practices and company policies..
Skills and requirements:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience.
Oversees payroll processing in compliance with company policies and regulations.
Proficient in accounting software and Excel for analysis and reporting.
Strong knowledge of GAAP, tax laws, and compliance requirements.
Detail-oriented with a focus on payroll and financial report accuracy.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Fluent in French and English, both written and spoken. (As we serve clients beyond Quebec)
PCP (Payroll Compliance Practitioner) certification is an asset.
