We are seeking a Financial Controller to join our team in Penticton -- a key leadership role supporting the financial health, compliance, and growth of our business.
About the Role
The Financial Controller is responsible for producing accurate financial information and analysis, maintaining transparency, and optimizing resource allocation. This includes leading financial reporting, cost accounting, payroll and benefits, treasury, and budgeting to support monthly and annual goals. The Controller ensures compliance with tax, payroll, and other regulatory requirements, and plays an integral role in strategic financial decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting
 Lead month-end close, including balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, and reporting.
 Oversee cash management, AR/AP, payroll, CAPEX and inventory.
 Ensure tax compliance with provincial, federal, and regulatory requirements.
 Manage and document accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
 Provide cost accounting for new SKUs, manage inventories and WIP.
Reporting & Analysis
 Prepare weekly scorecards and labour cost analyses.
 Deliver monthly Financial Statement package including P&L reports and variance analyses.
 Support continuous improvement in cost tracking, SKU margin analysis, and resource efficiency.
Budgeting & Forecasting
 Develop and maintain effective budget models for departments and the organization.
 Support department managers during budgeting cycles with training and financial insights.
 Provide pro forma and cash flow models as required.
Inventory Management
 Oversee inventory controls and reconciliation across all offsite storage locations.
 Coordinate wine transfers between facilities and ensure accurate accounting of product movements.
 Work closely with B2B partner network to track product flow, manage documentation, and timely invoicing.
 Maintain accurate SKU-level costing and reporting for finished goods and bulk wine.
 Collaborate with production, logistics, and sales to ensure inventory integrity and accurate reporting.
Payroll
 Oversee employee records, contracts, benefits, and vacation accruals.
 Ensure timely and accurate payroll processing and tax compliance.
What You Bring
 CPA designation preferred or equivalent experience.
 Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
 Adaptability in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
 Experience in winery & restaurant accounting & cost accounting preferred.
 Proficiency in Sage, Commerce7, and Ollie Order systems preferred
 Advanced Excel skills.
Compensation & Benefits
Competitive salary: $80,000 - $100,000 annually + Bonus, commensurate with experience.
