Job Summary

The Financial Controller oversees all financial and accounting operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficient processes across the Finance department. This role manages financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and month-end/year-end close activities. The Financial Controller also leads and supports the accounting team, ensuring all bookkeeping and transactional work is completed accurately in NetSuite. This position plays a key role in maintaining strong internal controls and providing financial insights to support informed business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Management & Reporting



Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP. Lead month-end and year-end closing procedures, ensuring timely and accurate reporting. Maintain the general ledger and ensure all financial data is recorded accurately in NetSuite. Review account reconciliations, journal entries, and financial schedules.

Bookkeeping & Accounting Operations



Ensure all day-to-day bookkeeping tasks--including invoicing, accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations, expense management, and ledger maintenance--are completed accurately within NetSuite. Monitor and review transactional entries for accuracy and compliance with internal controls. Implement and maintain best practices for NetSuite accounting workflows and reporting.

Budgeting, Forecasting & Analysis



Develop annual budgets and financial forecasts in collaboration with department leaders. Prepare variance analyses and provide insights to support strategic decision-making. Identify cost-saving opportunities and financial process improvements.

Internal Controls & Compliance



Establish, implement, and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets. Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulatory requirements, and audit standards. Coordinate year-end audits with external stakeholders and provide necessary documentation.

Leadership & Team Management



Supervise and mentor accounting team members; provide coaching, training, and development. Oversee performance evaluations and support ongoing team growth. Foster a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Systems Management



Serve as the internal expert for NetSuite financial modules. Collaborate with IT and external partners to enhance system functionality and optimize workflows. Ensure data integrity, proper configuration, and ongoing maintenance within NetSuite.

Qualifications



Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline (CPA designation preferred).

8+ years of progressive accounting experience. 5+ years of experience in a supervisory or Financial Controller role. Strong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting standards. Hands-on experience with NetSuite required. Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial analysis. Previous experience working in an entrepreneurial environment Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Strong leadership and communication abilities.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $90,000.00-$110,000.00 per year
