Job Summary

A leading Canadian investment and property management firm with a diversified portfolio across industrial, commercial, and retail properties, as well as apparel manufacturing and brand investments, is seeking an experienced

Financial Controller

to lead financial operations and provide strategic financial insights across multiple business sectors.

Responsibilities:

Fully oversee accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting across all business units, including property and apparel divisions. Conduct financial modeling and analysis to evaluate potential investments in real estate and apparel brands. Review and produce accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports with variance analysis, KPIs, and business insights. Collaborate with property management and apparel teams to optimize financial performance and operational efficiency. Develop and implement internal controls, financial procedures, and compliance policies to ensure accuracy and risk mitigation. Provide strategic financial support for investment decisions, acquisitions, and capital expenditures. Manage relationships with external stakeholders including auditors, banks, and regulatory agencies. Continuously improve financial processes by leveraging technology and industry best practices.

Requirements:

CPA designation (CA, CMA, CGA) preferred.

Minimum 8 years of financial management and accounting experience

, preferably in the real estate, property management, or apparel sectors in Canada. Strong financial modeling, investment evaluation, and data analysis skills. Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks Online, Yardi, MRI, or apparel-specific ERP systems; advanced Excel skills required. Solid knowledge of accounting standards related to real estate, commercial leases, and manufacturing operations. Excellent communication, presentation, and team collaboration abilities. Background in real estate, manufacturing, or retail is strongly preferred.
