JOB SUMMARY



Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), the Financial Controller will be responsible for accounting and tax operations, as well as maintaining and controlling production costs. This position is essential to ensure the reliability of financial data and regulatory compliance, while supporting the CFO in his mandate.

RESPONSIBILITIES



General accounting:



Conduct monthly and year-end closing activities. Prepare account analyses, reports and financial statements for management and stakeholders. Ensure compliance with accounting standards. Ensure accuracy and relevance of information in coordination with the whole organization. Coordinate external audits and prepare necessary documentation. Improve internal accounting processes and controls.

Taxation and Sales Taxes:



Support Canadian and U.S. sales tax remittances in accordance with regulations. Perform spot checks to ensure sales taxes are correctly programmed into the Avalara system and keep it up to date. Prepare sales tax compliance monitoring reports. Collaborate with external firm to prepare annual tax returns. Manage instalment payments.

Costing:



Maintain costing methods in ERP (Epicor) and ensure their accuracy. Ensure that costing data is updated to accurately reflect operational reality. Analyze discrepancies and validate the relevance of product costs to ensure reliable and up-to-date data. Support operations managers in decision-making.

REQUIREMENTS, QUALITIES AND SKILLS



Education

: Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field.

Professional designation:

Certified Professional Accountant (CPA).

Experience:

Minimum three to five years' relevant experience, ideally in the manufacturing sector. Experience in costing and managing indirect taxes in Canada and the United States (asset).

Languages:

Fluency in French and English, both oral and written.

Technical skills

: Proficiency in ERP accounting (EPICOR an asset) and payroll software (e.g.: Nethris, Employer D, Algo Design). Excellent knowledge of Excel (e.g. advanced search, pivot table).

Computer skills

:

Mastery of an accounting ERP (EPICOR an asset). Excellent knowledge of Excel (e.g. advanced search, pivot table). Knowledge of payroll software (e.g., Nethris, Employer D, Algo Design).

Personal skills:



Thoroughness and attention to detail. Analytical and organizational skills. Communication and collaboration skills. Results-oriented. Ability to work in fast-paced and dynamic environment. Ability to learn, curiosity and business acumen.
