We are a well-established and respected family-owned real estate investment and development business based in Kingston, seeking a seasoned
Financial
Controller
to lead our high-performing team. Reporting directly to ownership, this role is responsible for overseeing the financial health of our operations, including accounting functions, financial reporting, and cash management.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee and delegate all accounting operations, including quarterly and year-end financials
Oversee and review annual budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis
Monitor and report on project budgets and financial performance
Maintain corporate records and intercompany loan balances
Administer payroll, tax filings (HST, EHT, WSIB), and year-end reconciliations
Manage commercial lease agreements and annual cost adjustments
Provide financial analysis on mortgage and loan activities
Liaise with external partners, including accountants, lawyers, banks and auditors
Support ownership with timely financial insights as required
Ensure the maintenance of accounting controls
Qualifications
CPA designation
Minimum 5 years' experience in accounting/finance; real estate industry preferred
Strong organizational, analytical, and project management skills
Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines independently
Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Yardi software experience is an asset
Strong written and verbal communication skills
